This course is an introduction to the latest ERDAS ER Mapper software. Instructors will introduce students to ERDAS ER Mapper's fundamental design and processing capabilities. Basic remote sensing concepts such as, enhancing image contrast, spatial filtering, image rectification and unsupervised classification will be presented. (2 day class)

• Navigate around the ERDAS ER Mapper interface
• Using Algorithms to load, display and process images
• Understanding multiple image ordering in Algorithms
• Work with Image Data Values including scattergrams and traverse profiles
• Using Contrast Enhancement Tools
• Spatial filtering and Formula usage
• Mosaic several images to produce one seamless output
• Compressing imagery to ECW/JP2
• Writing out Datasets
• Generating Virtual Datasets
• Geolink images together
• Assign geographical coordinates to an image to create geometrically corrected imagery
• Orthorectify airphotos using GCPs and again using Exterior Orientation
• Map composition
• Introducing ERDAS ER Mapper Wizards
• Creating Algorithms using ERDAS ER Mapper image Wizards
• Perform a basic land cover unsupervised classification using a multispectral image
