Photogrammetry
Photogrammetry is the art, science and technology of obtaining reliable measurements, maps, digital elevation models and other GIS data about the earth and its environment from aerial and satellite imagery. Photogrammetrists are responsible for all phases of mapping projects and provide spatially accurate base maps that form the foundation for many GIS applications.
Leica Geosystems' photogrammetry products include some of the most sophisticated software tools in the industry, notably the award-winning ERDAS IMAGINE Product Suite and the productivity-enhancing Leica Photogrammetry Suite.
Remote Sensing
Once geographic imagery has been acquired and processed, it is ready to be referenced, measured, analyzed, presented and integrated into other systems such as a GIS or geodatabase. Processed imagery provides decision makers in a broad variety of industries the means to formulate growth strategies, respond to emergencies, plan for contingencies or even implement conservation strategies.
Leica Geosystems' products for remote sensing include some of the most comprehensive and flexible software tools in the industry, including the award-winning ERDAS IMAGINE, as well as image processing tools built for the ArcGIS platform.
3D Visualization
3D visualization and exploration is the art and science of converting spatial information into an accurate and informative digital reality and thereby promoting a clearer understanding of spatial relationships. Through the use of such tools as planetary viewing environments, users everywhere can independently or collaboratively explore and analyze 3D terrain with a broad array of GIS and analysis tools. 3D Visualization can be used for many different purposes from trip planning and tourism to defense strategies to assessment of disaster areas.
Leica Virtual Explorer is a suite of products made up of components and add-ons to give users a variety of 3D visualization choices. Scenes can be created, saved and shared as well as analyzed and explored using the latest in sophisticated geospatial software by Leica Geosystems.
Data Sharing
Leica TITAN is a dynamic online solution for sharing geospatial and location-based content in a single, secure environment. Empowered by a 3D virtual globe, the Leica TITAN Network allows users to discover, visualize, share and retrieve geospatial data and location-based content within a social network.
Enterprise Solutions
Leica ADE Suite contains web-based and mobile enterprise applications for editing Oracle Spatial data. Leica ADE enables organizations to deploy spatial information to the people who need it, when they need it. From desktop to enterprise wide applications, ER Mapper Suite was created for organizations to incorporate the analysis, management, distribution and integration of geospatial images into their buisness systems.
Extensions for ArcGIS
Feature Analyst for ArcGIS and ERDAS IMAGINE is a complete solution for extracting geospatial features from satellite and aerial imagery. LIDAR Analyst for ArcGIS and ERDAS IMAGINE automates the extraction of 3D terrain surfaces, buildings, trees and forest areas. Image Analysis™ for ArcGIS is an all-in-one solution for preparing and creating GIS-ready imagery from airborne sensors. Stereo Analyst® for ArcGIS, a Stereo feature collection tool designed to create and revise a comprehensive database of feature data.
Airborne Sensors and Products
Airborne data acquisition is a technique for gathering information about the earth. In gathering geospatial information, airborne sensors including cameras, laser scanners and digital scanners measure variations in electromagnetic wave interactions with objects on the surface of the earth. Because remote sensing systems operate in various parts of the electromagnetic spectrum – ultraviolet, infrared, thermal and microwave, in addition to visible - we can record large volumes of information about the earth and use it in a wide variety of geospatial information applications.
Airborne sensors and related products from Leica Geosystems include the ADS40 Aerial Digital Sensor and ALS50 Airborne Laser Scanner, the most sophisticated sensors in the industry.
